" In today's society, it is rare to leave a store with a genuine feeling of having experienced excellent customer service. For this reason, when an employee or store goes above and beyond expectations I believe the feat should be celebrated and recognized.
My girlfriend Gina and I recently redecorated our kitchen/dining room in our Plymouth area home. After a $1,000+ purchase of patio furniture from the Mill Store in May of last year that left us completely satisfied, we headed straight back to the Plymouth location to pick up some barstools. Upon arrival, we were quickly greeted by several employees however thankfully they allowed us some space to browse without feeling pressured by sales people.
After looking around for a while, we picked out a stool but had several questions. This is the very moment Chris arrived to help us. He answered all of our questions and concerns pleasantly, politely, completely, and with a smile on his face. After he qualified the size stool we would need, he informed us the model we had picked out would work great. He informed us the items were in stock and that the Mill Store would even assemble them for us!
We expected the assembly to take at least a week or so, so you can imagine our surprise when we received a call the next morning saying the stools were ready for pickup. We were wowed and thrilled all at once. We have since picked up and brought the stools home. They fit perfectly and we really love them.
We would like to formally thank Chris and all of the Mill Store Plymouth employees for taking great care of us not once, but twice in a row. Job well done! We sincerely look forward to our next wonderful Mill Store experience!! " |

" For many years, I have been shopping at your Dennisport location. In fact, when I was a kid I went miniature golfing with my family, and always went shopping in the funky looking building remember the Quoddy moccasins? Penny candy? Silly knotty pine knick-knacks? (who over 45 doesn't remember the novelty dog house with the hooks my brother was always in the dog house!) I have a seasonal cottage there, and the Mill Stores, along with a trip to Benny 's, is always on my spring list. The golf course is still beautiful. Nothing on the cape compares to it.
Over the years, the selection and quality is still there. I cannot begin to tell you how much I buy there every year. It may be as small as a quart of paint, or a stencil; sometimes it is furniture. (I am there many times over the season) no matter what it is, I get the same quality service that my parents got back in the 60 's. The store has always been run well. It is well staffed, and the staff has always gone out of their way to help me, and other customers. It is a nice balance of leaving you alone to decide (I hate a pushy clerk) to helping you out to the car. I do not want to single anyone out, because I believe everyone in that store is equally helpful. Here is an example of good service.
This past Wednesday, I was in the Dennisport Store, and I bought 2 window boxes. The clerk asked me if I needed brackets to go with them. I already had some, so I said no. (but, good suggestion - good sales pitch!) He wanted to help me to my car, but I was fine. When I got to my cottage, I had bought the wrong size too small. Plus the brackets I had were rusting. Back I went (I HATE returning things!) I was greeted by Bob, (another sales clerk), no hassle returning them. In fact, I needed 3 window boxes, he fussed through the selection, as if he were picking them out for himself! I liked that a lot! I ended up getting 4 wooden brackets; it was not a huge sale, but I was treated like I bought hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise! Bob wanted to help me to my car again; I declined, but it was nice he offered.
Lately, at other assorted stores, I get asked to call an 800 number, to give a survey. In return, I can win a prize. My motivation here is to tell the powers that be you have great associates in your Dennisport Store. It is good old fashion customer service; sensible, courteous, well informed... I thought they should be singled out. The silly novelty gifts from my childhood are gone, but the great service from years ago is still there. Nice job everyone! " |

It is at the perfect height in my tree like you suggested and I filled the slats with a little peanut butter and hung a banana next to the house. Great suggestions by the way! | " We bought a set of patio furniture from the Mill Store in Stratham, NH in August. We live in Abbot , ME and were going to be in the Southern NH area for the weekend of August 20th. I called the store and spoke to Vicki. There were quite a few pieces that we liked on- line. Vicki was extremely helpful in answering questions and put aside the pieces we were interested in so that it would be quick and easy for us to pick up on our way home. She was extremely upbeat and when we met her it was as if we had a friend at your store. We are so happy with our purchases and have received so many compliments on it and our new deck. " A quick cosmetic re-do of our guest bathroom in Oct quickly turned into a major project with many complications, as often happens. I was up against a deadline for the plumber's arrival in 2 days!
I had already purchased and returned 3 ready-made vanities from the big box stores. I called the Stratham, NH store and spoke w/Vicki, who checked and located the one oak vanity left!She helpfully and graciously took the measurements for me and I was on my way the 25 miles or so to the store! Once there, she and Norman were so pleasant and helpful with looking it over, adjusting the the doors, and matching our existing stain.
Norman spent considerable time and effort helping me get it loaded & secured in my Corolla-no easy feat but he persisted cheerfully and it made it home without a scratch. If these two employees had not gone out of their way and been so pleasant & helpful, this story would not havae had a good ending!
They made a huge impression on me and I will definitely think of them and Mill Stores for my next project!! " |

In this time of hustle and bustle, I just wanted to tell you about a good Samaritan who works in your community who went out of his way to make a little girl's belief in Santa last. After spending hours on the phone calling every place imaginable, I happened upon Bob at Mill Store in Plymouth.
Of course he didn't have a wishing well. Of course he wouldn't have one until Spring. But that's where the conversation veered from so many others I had already had that day. He said,"Let me check around and see what I can do." I was speechless. He took my number, but I honestly didn't expect to hear from him again. After all, he's a busy guy and this wasn't his problem. But I did hear from him. Several times. In fact, he took my daughter's story up his chain of command all the way to the manufacturer and somehow convinced them to build one, just one, especially for my daughter.
So when you're feeling like the season is drowning you in the bustle and chores, take a moment and smile because there really are wonderful people in the world. One of them is named Bob. " |
